Bolbitis sp. ‘Buea’ is an attractive aquatic fern with finely divided, textured green leaves that give aquariums a natural, lush appearance. It is especially well suited for attaching to driftwood, rocks, and other hardscape and works well in planted tanks, shrimp tanks, and aquascapes.

Plant Specs

  • Difficulty: Easy–Moderate
  • Growth Rate: Slow–Moderate
  • Lighting: Low–Medium
  • CO₂: Not required; beneficial
  • Temperature: Approximately 68–80°F
  • pH: Approximately 6.0–7.5

  • Propagation: Rhizome division

Like other Bolbitis, this plant should not have its rhizome buried in substrate. Attach it to rock or wood and allow the roots to anchor naturally. Good water movement and stable aquarium conditions help encourage healthy growth.

Important: Live plants naturally vary in size, shape, leaf count, and coloration. Some older leaves may decline after shipping or when transitioning to new aquarium conditions, while healthy rhizomes typically produce new growth.
