Green Dragon Bristlenose Plecos are a striking Ancistrus variety known for their deep olive-green to dark green coloration, often accented by lighter spotting. They are hardy, peaceful, and excellent algae grazers, making them a great addition to established community aquariums.

Like other bristlenose plecos, they stay relatively compact and spend much of their time grazing on surfaces, driftwood, and aquarium décor. Males develop the characteristic bristles on the face as they mature, while females generally have fewer or much smaller bristles.

Care Level: Easy
Adult Size: Approximately 4–5 inches
Temperament: Peaceful
Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons
Temperature: 72–80°F
pH: 6.5–7.8
Diet: Omnivore with a strong preference for vegetable matter

Feed a varied diet including quality algae wafers, spirulina-based foods, zucchini, green beans, and other vegetables. Occasional higher-protein foods can also be offered. Driftwood is recommended for grazing and cover.

Green Dragon Bristlenose Plecos are compatible with most peaceful community fish, shrimp, snails, Corydoras, rainbowfish, and other non-aggressive species. Provide caves and hiding areas, particularly when keeping multiple plecos or attempting to breed them.

Please note: Coloration and markings can vary naturally between individual fish. Juveniles may continue developing their adult coloration as they mature.
